Press Conference by the UN delegation Held at Ambassador Hotel The delegation headed by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs & Emergency Coordinator Mr. Jan Egeland and Mr. Maxwell Gaylard, UN Somalia Humanitarian Coordinator as well as a representative from the Arab League came to Somaliland on a brief visit. This was surely, the first visit that Somaliland had so far from a such high ranking UN Officer.
on 3rd December 2004.

The delegation had chances to see some of the UN projects currently going on in Somaliland. The UN delegation after meetings with various Government, UN and other Agencies held a Press Conference later in the day at Ambassador Hotel where they spent the night to brief the Media about their mission, amongst the Media groups present are Al Jazeera and IRIN. The President of Somaliland Hon. Mr. Dahir Riyaale Kahin invited the delegation to a Banquet at his residence.
